Get started in three steps
Ledger devices store your private keys offline so your funds stay protected from online attacks. Follow these steps to set up your device safely.
- Unbox & verify. Confirm the packaging seal and follow on-screen prompts. Never enter your recovery phrase into a computer or phone.
- Create or restore. Choose to create a new wallet or restore from an existing recovery phrase. Write your recovery words down on the card supplied — keep them offline and secure.
- Install Ledger Live. Download Ledger Live from the official Ledger site, add accounts for your assets, and install apps directly to your device.
Security tips
Always update device firmware and Ledger Live when prompted. Use a strong PIN and store your recovery phrase in a safe, fireproof place. If you ever suspect compromise, move funds to a new wallet using a fresh device and recovery phrase.
